Next Step Living is a unique, one-stop resource for homeowners craving energy efficiency. We are dedicated to helping our customers increase the comfort of their homes while lowering their energy bills. Starting with an in-home consultation, NSL delivers ongoing service – from informed recommendations to guidance about incentives to expert installation. Since 2008, over 48,000 families have welcomed us into their homes in MA and CT.

Founder & CEO

Geoff Chapin

Geoff founded Next Step Living in 2008. Prior to Next Step Living, Geoff served as a Senior Manager of the Bridgespan Group, a strategy consulting firm for public entities and non-profits. Clients included the Energy Foundation, The City of San Francisco, The Portland Public School District, and the Packard Foundation. Prior to this, Geoff led teams at Bain & Company in the New York and San Francisco offices.

Chief Operations Officer

Brian Greenfield

Prior to joining Next Step Living as one of the first employees, Brian served as General Manager of Vista Financial Inc. (VFI), a subsidiary of Performant Financial Corporation. Performant is a business process outsourcing firm with a focus on the higher education industry serving U.S. government and private agencies. Brian received his MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and his BA from Williams College in Economics.

Chief Financial Officer

Larry Mihalchik

Larry joined Next Step Living in March 2013 with an extensive management career primarily with technology companies in the Boston area. He led the Initial Public Offerings (IPO’s) of Timberland and Chomerics; as CFO, he negotiated and managed the sale of three public companies at significant premiums; and, he has raised over $75 million from venture capital private equity firms.
