NeuroUnderstanding


Overview

NeuroUnderstanding is a teacher professional development program that translates neuroscience research about the developing brain into useable knowledge for classroom practices and pedagogy. It is a hybrid program of online modules and in-person workshops designed to improve teacher communication and collaboration, while respecting their schedules, and filling the need for continuous professional support throughout the school year.

CEO/Founder

Alli Booth

Alli Booth is a recent Harvard Graduate School of Education graduate, and former Latin and Ancient History teacher with a background in anthropology, psychology, and neuroscience. Currently she is devoted to increasing teacher effectiveness in the classrooms by developing educators’ awareness of students' neurobiological development, and providing teachers ongoing support. She now is traveling around the US bringing NU from coast to coast.

Ruthie Chang

Ruthie recently from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a master's in the Mind, Brain and Education program. While at HGSE, she worked with Dr. Tina Grotzer at Project Zero investigating K-4 students' causal understanding in science. She also works in education research int he Bay Area and has an interest in science, media and early childhood. She currently lives in San Francisco and enjoys cooking, singing and learning the guitar.
