These 34 Boston Startups Raised More Than $358M in April

May 8, 2018

As for local startup funding, April will be remembered as the month when lots of small and medium deals were reached.

As far as we were able to track, the total capital raised by local startups in April is a little lower than in March, with $358 million raised in April compared to March’s $451 million. However, April’s deals were more in number, 34 compared to 23. In short, many local startups raised money from seed rounds or equity offerings.

The award for one of the largest funding rounds of the month goes to marketing platform Drift’s $60 million in Series C, followed by Formlabs (a 3D printing designer) and Zaius (a marketing tech startup), who both raised $30 million each. Electronics company Nanterocomes fourth with $29.7 million.

As BostInno reported, a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission showed that Notarize raised $18.9 million in an equity round. The Boston-based the remote notary service didn’t provide any additional information on the round.

The last takeaway for the month is that Tom Brady raised funding, too: the digital production company he co-launched with Michael Strahan, Religion of Sports Media, announced it raised $3 million at the end of April.
