Please join us for the first in an educational series about investing for women, with an emphasis on investing in alternative asset classes.

Our conversation about investing in venture capital will unpack this key asset class for women in clear, easily relatable terms. We will provide balanced views about the risks and opportunities of venture investing, as well as AVG’s approach to investing in this asset class.

Questions to be discussed:

  • What is venture capital and how does it differ from other asset classes?

  • What are reasons to invest in venture?

  • How do you evaluate venture deals?

  • Why is a portfolio important and what should you consider in building one?

  • How can the average investor get into venture?

Moderator

Maria Lewis Kussmaul, Co-Founder and Partner at AGC Partners, who leads the firm’s investment banking efforts in the IT security sector.

Participants

  • Gail Gilbert Ball, Managing Partner of Chestnut Street Ventures, a VC fund for Penn alums

  • Laura Bordewieck Rippy, Managing Partner of Green D Ventures, a VC fund for Dartmouth alums
