Boston Invests in Growth

Boston Invests in Growth is a loan pool for large commercial developments, designed to jumpstart well-financed construction projects, create jobs, and strengthen Boston's economy. The $69 million HUD Section 108 funded loan pool provides financing for the gap that remains between the financing and equity and the total project cost, known as mezzanine financing. In addition, the City of Boston has set aside a percentage of the loan pool for smaller neighborhood based projects of at least 5,000 square feet.

Boston Local Development Corporation

The Boston Local Development Corporation (BLDC) works to increase employment opportunities for Boston residents by providing small business loans with a focus on commercial, industrial and service companies. The BLDC is a private 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation governed by an independent board of trustees. The day to day operation of the program is provided by the Boston Redevelopment Authority's financial services department.

The Capital Network

The Capital Network is a non-profit (501c3) organization that provides extensive financial education alongside an engaged community to help early-stage entrepreneurs in Boston. We strive to help entrepreneurs master the entire funding process to successfully raise seed capital for their startup.

With 700+ venture capital professionals from 80+ firms, its members collectively manage more than $50 billion in capital.

Partners with Non-Profits

The City of Boston wants to support those organizations that are invested in our neighborhoods by investing in them. Partners with Non-Profits (PNP) provides matching grants up to a maximum of $20,000 per project per fiscal year for capital improvements to non-profit facilities located in Boston.

Streetscape Innovation Fund

The Streetscape Innovation Fund (SIF) is a $1 million allocation of capital funds dedicated to experimenting with new ways of designing, equipping or instrumenting city streets. Established in July of 2012, this fund has already helped support ten experiments to date.
