Women's professional group Chief raises $22 million and plans Boston expansion

The Wing, a woman-focused co-working space company, has already taken flight in Boston, and it appears that Chief could be soon following. Chief, a New York-based professional network for influential women, has raised $22 million in series A funding and plans to use the funds to expand in Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Washington, D.C., Bloomberg reported.

General Catalyst's Ken Chenault and Inspired Capital's Alexa Von Tobel at Inspired Capital co-led the funding round. Chenault — who until last year was the CEO of American Express Co. — and von Tobel will both join Chief’s board of directors.
