VC Funding Update: Four Dozen Boston Startups Raise Over $843M in August

Four dozen Boston startups were flush with new cash last month.

The most notable rounds? Inari Agriculture‘s $89 million Series C round, Cybereason‘s $200 million from Softbank, Ziopharm Oncology‘s $105 million securities sale and Algo Capital’s new $200 million Algo VC Fund.

Boston-based venture capital firm Vida Ventures also officially became the area’s latest biotech megafund, closing its second fund at $600 million. Vida II will be used to further the firm’s life sciences platform. With the close of Vida II, Vida has approximately $1 billion under management in less than two years since inception, the firm said.
