Exclusive: Exec that worked on McDonald's branding will lead Boston's Breakaway

Tom Jump, an advertising executive who previously led worldwide branding forMcDonald's restaurants, has been tapped as president of Boston-based branding agency and venture capital firm Breakaway.

Jump previously led the worldwide McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) account for Chicago-based advertising agency Leo Burnett, which included leading the strategic direction of the fast-food giant's marketing and communications initiatives.

He'll now be focused on helping lead the 30-person team at Breakaway, succeeding Tim Marken, who has taken a job as the chief growth officer for Boston Globe Media.
