Join us for a lively panel discussion and networking event that will address how individuals, organizations and movements can play distinctive and critical roles in revitalizing communities as well as placekeeping. A concept beyond placemaking, placekeeping includes the preservation of local identity through strengthening social bonds, celebrating neighborhood history, and developing strategies for enhancing and energizing neighborhoods.
- How do we maintain authenticity while reinvigorating the social and economic well-being of a given community?
- What are creative opportunities for adaptive reuse of buildings or vacant lots to enrich communities?
- How can we promote local entrepreneurship and build local capacity for economic development?
- How can we make sure every person in the community has a seat at the table to foster equitable contribution?
Panelists include:
Sabrina Dorsainvil, Mayor's Office of New Urban Mechanics
