Dr Miller served as Chief Medical Officer for the VA New England Healthcare System during 2000-2008. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and academic mission of 8 medical centers and 38 community-based outpatient clinics throughout the six New England states, and led the system to national prominence in clinical quality, residency training, and research. The system operates with a budget over $1.4 billion.
