Babson College’s latest venture is a far cry from the leafy confines of its Wellesley campus.
The business school just unveiled plans to open a “hub” in Dubai to offer executive training and an MBA program. Babson already operates satellite locations in Boston, Miami, and San Francisco, but this is the school’s first overseas location.
President Kerry Healey says her school regularly gets approached about potential expansions, but she wanted to pick the right place to make her move. Dubai fits the bill because it is a financial capital and there is a strong contingent of Babson alumni nearby. (Healey is traveling to meet with some of them tomorrow.) The outpost will be located at the Academy in the Dubai International Financial Centre; it will be staffed by an executive director at the start.
