VC Funding Update: 53 Startups Raised Over $2 Billion in April

It wasn’t all rain showers this April; it also poured cash on startups in Beantown. Over 50 startups, small and big, raised over $2 billion in April.

Most notable were eZCater and Toast Inc’s monster rounds: ezCater raised $150 million in a Series D-1 and Toast Inc raised $250 million. Other monster rounds included wireless broadband internet startup Starry’s $125 million Series D, Saas company Klaviyo’s $150 million round, biotech company Talaris Therapeutics’ $100 million in Series A funding and online proctoring platform Examity’s $90 million.

It’s wasn’t all startups: private equity and venture capital firm M/C Partners raised $350 million for its newest fund, according to reports.
