In 2011, Maria was sitting in a park with her 5-year-old son on a cold day and was wishing for an indoor play space that was nearby. She started a business plan, but quickly found that she was stumped by the financial statements. While looking for summer programs for her son at the Roxbury Innovation Center (RIC), she came across the TLE Pre-Accelerator Program. The program is open to local Roxbury and Greater Boston entrepreneurs that need a solid business plan to launch or to scale further their pre-start, start-up, or established business. She was excited to participate in the August pitch night at RIC and came in second place. After completing this cohort program, Maria's hopes and dreams of bringing 2 Birds No Stones to the community are coming true.
