Your schedule, as your plate, is full. But try to swing by a few local startup events in January, because there’s plenty to choose from. In January, you can find the best co-founder for your startup, learn JavaScript, learn to communicate with people who can code even if you can’t, and get feedback on your investor pitch.

Week 1 Friday, January 4

BNI Financial District Networking Meeting: BNI Financial District helps people increase their business. Each week, members meet with other trusted business leaders to build and nurture lasting relationships and pass qualified business referrals. Week 2 Monday, January 7

APIs: CRUD, REST, and Other Buzzwords: Curious about API’s but intimidated by all the jargon? During this workshop organized by Thinkful Boston, you will even build your first API by the time you leave. This is a fun, intermediate-level class where some programming knowledge will be helpful, and be sure to bring your laptop to get the most out of it. Speaker Sisterhood (Newton/Needham) Meeting: Do you want to increase your confidence in public speaking, better present your ideas at work, or maybe just want to connect with like-minded women who are using their voice to learn more about themselves and others? Please join the Speaker Sisterhood of Newton/Needham. The club meets from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month in Newton. Wednesday, January 9

Alternative Funding Sources for Raising Capital: The Startup Coalition is hosting a panel discussion on one of the most important and critical topics for early stage entrepreneurs: “How to leverage alternative funding sources for raising capital and the considerations of impact on equity.” The panel will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at the WeWork on Atlantic Avenue (745 Atlantic Avenue). Cofounder Matching: Find the Right Business Partner: Startup Boston, Google Cloud for Startups and South Shore Innovation are joining forces to create an event that will bring you one step closer to finding your future cofounder. Join them for an evening of networking and small group discussions. There’s a survey you need to fill out before attending. Understanding Angel & Venture Term Sheets: A Play In 3 Acts: Term sheets got you tearing your hair out? At this event, you will experience an in-depth discussion hosted by some of Boston’s most experienced attorneys. Through re-enactment of negotiations, you’ll understand how all parties (entrepreneurs, engineers and investors) understand this process from their own perspectives. Lunch provided. Career Conversations for Startup Employees: Getting in the door of a startup is exciting.  But once that happens, who’s looking out for your professional evolution? Is your founder supporting your career path? What leverage do you have when your contract comes up for renewal?
