15 Startups That Will Present at TiE ScaleUp Demo Day

April 16, 2018

The fourth cohort of startups in the ScaleUp program at TiE Boston – the local chapter of the global nonprofit organization fostering entrepreneurship – is polishing up its pitches for Demo Day, the last milestone of TiE Boston’s five-month signature accelerator.

On April 17th, the public at Demo Day will hear how the 15 companies announced in October have come a long way.

Here’s an update of what some of the TiE Boston startups have accomplished in the past six months. Spiro Technologies, a CRM provider based in Boston, announced a $3 million seed round led by Geekdom Fund. Also, Medumo, a digital health startup that is also among the 32 participants in the 2018 PULSE@MassChallenge digital health accelerator, raised a $2 million seed round in January and was shortly after profiled on Techcrunch. Last but not least, PlenOptika started its journey as one of the members of the Harvard Innovation Labs’ fall cohort.

Here are the 15 startups that will present at Demo Day (descriptions provided by TiE Boston):

Smart Kargo: SaaS for commercial airlines interested in growing revenue by monetizing excess belly capacity under the wings by transporting goods/cargo.

• SolChroma Technologies: Producting the most vivid, full-color, reflective digital signs to disrupt the $13 billion outdoor advertising market.

Solstice: Radically expanding access to clean energy by providing community-shared solar power to American households.

• Spiro Technologies: An A.I.-powered CRM that learns your sales process to increase sales team effectiveness and deliver more accurate business insights.
