Internship Manager - Norwegian Entrepreneurship Summer 2018

The Internship Manager works with the Faculty Director to liaise and recruit local start-up companies into the executive program, coach the Interns on perfecting their resume and interview skills, coordinate the internship matching process, and ensure a quality internship experience through mid- and end-term company site visits.

He/She works with the ELC Program Manager to help prepare for the students’ arrival in Boston, assisting with Orientation Week and Capstone Week events. The Internship Manager may initiate networking socials between start-up and Interns during the summer program.

Internship Duration: March 26 – August 24, 2018 

Responsibilities

  • ● Research and contact potential internship companies, perform initial phone screenings, and assist the Faculty Director in selecting companies.
  • ● Obtain job descriptions and company overviews and post them for students.
  • ● Coach students in resume writing and complete resume edits, so they are prepared and presentable to prospective companies.
  • ● Help coach interview techniques so that the Intern is confident in presenting their skills to a U.S. start-up.
  • ● Prepare schedule and materials for Internship Interview Day, and assist in debriefing companies/Interns, as well as matching Interns with companies. ● Coordinate and conduct mid- and end-term company site visits with the Faculty Director.
  • ● Initiate and support coordination for networking skills between specific start-ups and Interns.
  • ● Assist in preparing for and attend the Orientation and Capstone Week events and Graduation Luncheon.

 

Skills Required

  • ● 2 – 3 year’s professional work experience preferred.
  • ● Interest in Boston-centric entrepreneurial environment and network.
  • ● Experience in student services.
  • ● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • ● Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • ● Bachelor’s degree required. Dates of employment
  • ● March 26 to August 24, 2018. Some weeks will be very intense, while others much less so.

 

Anticipated Hours of Employment

  • ● 15-40 hrs./week from March 26 – June 15.
  • ● 5-15 hrs./week from June 18 – August 3.
  • ● 25 – 40 hrs./week from August 6 – August 17.
  • ● Minimal Debrief hours the week of August 20 – 24.
  •  

Hourly pay. Pay compensation based on experience.
