Venture Lane is a new start-up hub in the heart of Boston’s Downtown Crossing which features a founder/entrepreneur led, curated community of tech start-ups. We plan to make a substantial difference for entrepreneurs and their companies by providing a unique mixture of: outstanding individual service and attention, a collaborative work family, beautiful cutting edge space, deep connection to the Boston startup eco system, plug and play support by our team and professional partners and a hand-picked educational and social program.

Your role:
You are the heart and the soul of the space and will help to launch and operate the Venture Lane Boston startup hub. A curated space were early stage tech start-ups can thrive, grow and develop in a community of like-minded entrepreneurs and companies. We support this with an outstanding on site staff and entrepreneurs in residence. The Community Manager is responsible for maintaining an extraordinary community, co-creating outstanding and engaging events and programs for its members and help the General Manager to run the day to day operations. You serve as a daily contact point for members and new potential members, by giving tours, making appointments, maintain the common space and meeting rooms and coordinate the external service partners. You are a major force behind the member communication channels and help to create content for our website and social media outlets.

Your responsibilities Include:

  • Actively plan and support the launch of Venture Lane
  • Assist the General Manager in providing excellent customer service: assist members in a friendly & professional manner, man the front desk, greet visitors, and receive deliveries
  • Create a warm, welcoming and rewarding environment for all members
  • Create content for our website and social media channels and support member communication
  • Uphold hospitality standards to ensure seamless day-to-day operations: order, stock and take care of food and beverages; stock the cafe, conference room, and restroom amenities; distribute mail; maintain clean & tidy common areas; run & empty dishwasher
  • Oversee accounts payable: process weekly vendor invoices; follow up on payment inquiries, help with bookkeeping
  • Onboard new members: activate and distribute keys and welcome bags; answer new member questions
  • Resolve member issues with professionalism and patience
  • Plan and support professional, social, and educational events for members
  • Document and escalate maintenance and facility issues
  • Manage the office independently if General Manager is out of office
  • Lead walk-in tours
  • Support member communication channels and help to create content for our website and social media outlets

How to apply:

Requirements: 
  • Hospitality or customer service experience highly preferred
  • Personable & approachable with a strong customer service orientation
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Incredibly reliable
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; detail-oriented, strong multi-tasker
  • Able to proactively own & execute designated tasks independently, with high level of comfort asking for help when needed
  • Basic computer proficiency preferred (Google Drive, Excel, Gmail, and basic printer troubleshooting)
  • Knowledge in basic event management and tech start-up environment a plus
