General Assembly is teaming up with AAUW and the Mayor's Office of Women's Advancement to offer free, monthly salary negotiation workshops for the women of Boston.

At the current rate, the gender pay gap will not close until 2106. In their efforts to accelerate change, AAUW has boldly pledged to train 10 million women in salary negotiation across the U.S. by 2022 and close the pay gap by 2030.

Join us for a free two-hour salary negotiation workshop and gain the skills and confidence to successfully negotiate your salary and benefits packages in preparation for your next review or career change.

Why it Matters
On average, women across the U.S. still only make about 80 cents on a man’s dollar. The pay gap increases even more when you break it down by race. Latinx women are disproportionately impacted the most, making only 53 cents on a white, non-hispanic male’s one dollar.

The gender pay gap exists across all demographics, in every part of the country, and in nearly every line of work. This is not only a woman’s issue, and it is not on women alone to close the pay gap. However, until policies change on the national and employer level, AAUW is empowering individuals to advocate for themselves in the workplace.

AAUW Work Smart in Boston is an initiative of AAUW and the Mayor's Office of Women's Advancement to train half the working women of Boston to negotiate their salary and benefits packages over five years.
