With innovations like the Apple Watch and FitBit coming to market wearable devices have become one of the trendiest accessories to hit the consumer world. With everyone from your uncle, to your little sister, and even to your grandmother wearing these devices the smart wearable device market is projected to double by 2022.[1]

But what is the balance of function versus fashion for these devices? Have they made an impact – or have they been all hype?

Join the UMass Lowell innovation community, and Johnson and Johnson – JLABS as we bring together expert thought leaders in this space to discuss the true value and definition of “wearables devices” and “smart clothing”, the data that serves value to experts in the field, where these devices have fallen short in the past and can be improved in the future and the overall promise of the next generation of wearable devices.Tours of the UMass Lowell Fabric Discovery Center will be available during networking.
