Mentors offer invaluable resources to new and growing businesses. But how do you find a good mentor match and build a successful mentor-mentee relationship?

UMass Lowell Innovation Hub Haverhill and EforAll Lowell-Lawrence present Finding a Mentor Who Works for You to help entrepreneurs successfully utilize mentoring as a business growth strategy.

This program geared for entrepreneurs, small businesses, mentors and the community. Anyone looking to find a mentor or volunteer to be a mentor are invited to come and learn about opportunities through the iHub, SCORE and EforAll.

This workshop is part of the iHub’s Entrepreneur Development Series, a monthly program with networking, resources and support for businesses in the Greater Merrimack Valley.

During the Oct. 9 panel we will hear from a successful mentor-mentee partnership. Rafael Fonseca, Vice President of Product Management at Artel Video Systems, and Anthony Nganga, owner and founder of Studio 26 Associates, an architect, design, and space planning firm, will share their mentor/mentee experience. Fonseca, of Haverhill, has been a mentor with EforAll Lowell-Lawrence and EparaTodos Lawrence since 2015 having mentored nearly two dozen companies and entrepreneurs.

In addition, mentors from SCORE will share strategies on how to make mentoring more effective. Different from consulting, mentoring is about forming a relationship where advice, guidance and ideas can be shared to help keep a business on track and moving forward.

Doors open at 5:30 for networking and refreshments; program begins at 6 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

This series is generously sponsored by MTM Insurance and the Better Business Bureau.
