Lucy Steinert , Investor at Golden Seeds

Lucy has been an angel investor all her life. Her parents would talk about investing in start-up companies at the dinner table and amazingly sometimes listened to her. She made her first Angel investment the year she graduated from business school though she wouldn't have called it that then, she would have told you she invested in a friend's startup.

Professionally, she started life at Fidelity around mutual fund management, equity and portfolio analysis, then after business school went into management consulting where she worked at AT Kearney, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, IBM and CapGemini. She has also attempted to start several companies, only one of which still exists. In spite of her accent, she has spent most of her life in Europe, and has spent the last few years learning about the peculiarities of startup investing in the US.

Today, Lucy is on Golden Seeds Leadership Team here in Boston, and mentors startups at MassChallenge and MIT. She is also the Chief Strategy Officer of Trend Community, a company that uses AI to analyze social media data to better understand Rare Disease.
